Alessco is born…its background…

Alessco is the Local Energy Agency of the Province of Cosenza, established in 2006 and supported by the IEE European Programme (Intelligence Energy for Europe).  The Agency began as an innovative project using a combination of EU and Local Authority funding.The Agency is the outcome of an initiative launched by the Province of Cosenza in partnership with the Municipality of Cosenza, University of Calabria, the biggest Technical College of the Region “ITIS Monaco”, Confindustria (leading organization representing manufacturing and companies in the Province of Cosenza), CNA (National Confederation of Small and Medium Businesses and Craft Firms ).

Our area of operation expands from the Province of Cosenza and aims at including the rest of Calabria. The number of staff is composed of six members.

Alessco’s goal is to promote efficient energy use throughout the territory. The Agency has been officially authorized by the IEEA (Intelligent Executive Energy Agency) – European Commission and now is tutored by the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation (EACI).

ALESSCO’s objective is to become the reference point in energy field in the Province of Cosenza and in Calabria territory.
